Scholarships & Grants

In the 2006-2007 award year the CIAML awarded $162,909 in scholarships and grants to eligible students. Scholarships are a great way to help pay for school. Below are some scholarships available to students. For information about other scholarships see our financial aid department.

Culinary Endowment and Scholarship

Thanks to the Culinary Endowment and Scholarship, Inc. and its generous sponsors, the Institute is able to offer scholarships to many deserving students. Students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships as soon as possible because funds are limited.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. Fill out an application form.
  2. Typed 2 Page essay (double spaced) answering the following questions:
    • Why are you seeking financial assistance?
    • Why should you receive a tuition scholarship?
    • What are your professional plans?
  3. 2 letters of professional reference on business letterhead attached to reference questionnaire.
  4. A copy of driver's license and social security card.
  5. Copy of 2 years of tax returns (family tax returns if applicant under the age of 21
  6. All educational transcripts or proof of GED
  7. Interview with an officer of the Culinary Endowment & Scholarship, Inc
  8. 6 Months experience in the food service industry

Veteran's Association Scholarship

You must have served in the Military and submit a two page double spaced biography about yourself while you were on active duty in the military.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:
    • Application form
    • The required essay
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Copy of your driver’s license and social security card
    • Copy of VA DD2-14
  2. Must have at least 1 written Military reference (personal or professional).
  3. Annual income must be below $40,000, although consideration will be given to applicants with dependents and/or special circumstances as deem by the committee.
  4. Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarship funding from other sources.
  5. The award amount for this scholarship is $500.00. A student may receive it only once per program while attending our school.
  6. The scholarship is awarded prior to the class start.

High School Students Scholarship

The Culinary Institute Alain & Marie LeNotre is offering ten $2,000 tuition scholarships to high school graduates interested in its Cuisine, Pastry, or Culinary Arts Diploma program. To enter this culinary contest, please download the scholarship application and follow the requirements and guidelines.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:
    • application form
    • the required essay
    • copy of your driver's license and social security card
    • all transcripts (high school and/or college) or GED
    • copy of 2 years of tax returns
  2. Must have at least 2 written references (1 personal and 1 professional)
  3. Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarship funding from other sources.
  4. The award amount for this scholarship is $500.00. A student may receive it only once while attending our school.
  5. The scholarship is awarded prior to the class start.

High School Merit Award Scholarship

Must be a current High School student, have a 3.40 GPA or above. You must also write a one-page, typed personal essay describing how this was accomplished and what you plan to accomplish in the future.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:
    • application form
    • the required essay
    • copy of grades from high school senior year
  2. Must have a least 2 written references (1 personal and 1 teacher).
  3. Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarship funding from other sources.
  4. Annual income must be below $40,000.00, although consideration will be given to applicants with dependents and/or special circumstances as deem by the Committee.
  5. The award amount for this scholarship is $500.00. A student may receive this award only once per program while attending the Culinary Institute.
  6. The scholarship is awarded prior to the class start at the Culinary Institute.

Non-traditional Student Scholarship

Requirements for Non-traditional Student Scholarship are: you must be over 25 years old, never attended college, and submit a one-page typed biography about yourself which needs to include why you want to attend our school and what you hope to accomplish.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:
    • application form
    • the required essay
    • copy of your driver's license and social security card
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Copy of last years tax return
  2. Must have at least 2 written references (1 personal and 1 professional)
  3. Annual income must be below $40,000, although consideration will be given to applicants with dependents and/or special circumstances as deemed by the Committee.
  4. Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarship funding from other sources.
  5. The award amount for this scholarship is $1000.00. A student may receive it only once while attending our school.
  6. The scholarship is awarded prior to the class start.

Returning College Student Scholarship

Requirements for Returning College School scholarship are: you must have attended at least one year of college, and submit a one-page typed essay explaining why you want to return to school, your goals and what you plan to accomplish while attending our school.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:
    • application form
    • the required essay
    • copy of your driver's license and social security card
    • all transcripts (high school and/or college) or GED
  2. Must have at least 2 written references (1 personal and 1 professional)
  3. Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarship funding from other sources.
  4. The award amount for this scholarship is $500.00. A student may receive it only once while attending our school.
  5. The scholarship is awarded prior to the class start.

Single Parent Scholarship

Requirements for the Single Parent Scholarship are: you must be able to show proof of child support or a statement saying you do not receive child support, complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Financial Student Aid), and a one-page typed personal essay on your personal situation, including why you want to attend our school and what you hope to accomplish.

Scholarship Guidelines:
  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:
    • application form
    • the required essay
    • copy of your driver's license and social security card
    • Child Support Documentation
    • Copy of your Student Aid Report or FAFSA
  2. Must have at least 2 written references (1 personal and 1 professional)
  3. Applicants are encouraged to apply for additional scholarship funding from other sources.
  4. The award amount for this scholarship is $1000.00. A student may receive it only once while attending our school.
  5. The scholarship is awarded prior to the class start.

Out of State Student Scholarship

Requirements for the Out of State Student scholarship are: you must relocating to the state of Texas in order to attend our school, and submit a one-page typed essay explaining your decision to leave your home state and attend our school and what you hope you can accomplish while attending our school.

  1. All applicants must provide a complete application which includes the following:

    • copy of your driver's license and social security card
    • all transcripts (high school and/or college) or GED
    • copy of last year's tax return
  2. Must have at least 2 written references (1 personal and 1 professional)
